Aprašymas

Beyond the beach lies another side of the Southern coast-one shaped by tides, tradition, and generations who have made their living from the sea.

Southern Trawlers: A Photographic Journey of Shrimp Boats & the Working Coast Beyond the Beach is a visual collection celebrating the shrimp boats, working waterfronts, and fishing communities of the Southern East Coast.

Featuring more than 480 photographs, complemented by touches of original artwork, Susan Yerry captures the character of the working coast-from weathered trawlers resting at the dock to towering rigging and nets, quiet harbors, changing skies, and boats making their way to and from the sea.

Some of these trawlers may be familiar. Others may be discoveries. Vessel names are intentionally left for the reader to find within the images, inviting you to slow down, look a little closer, and perhaps recognize an old favorite along the way.

More than a collection of images, Southern Trawlers is a tribute to the boats, the fishermen, and the coastal communities that have carried this way of life from one generation to the next-and to the beauty, history, and artistry found along the working coast.

For those drawn to shrimp boats, maritime photography, coastal art, working waterfronts, and Southern coastal heritage, Southern Trawlers offers a glimpse into the world that exists just beyond the beach.
